Rob's Tip For: Recording Vocals

It is incredibly important for a vocalist to fully prepare for a vocal session.

It is a huge waste of time for a singer to spend hours trying to perfect a part that he or she has learned that day. The best thing to do is rehearse the part with a rough mix of the of the song at home to be fully prepared, and if the day of the session comes, and the vocalist finds him or herself struggling with a certain part, the best thing to do is to lay down the idea and move on. That way the singer can take the rough home to rehearse.

Time management is very important when it comes to recording so it is essential to know when to move on to stay productive.

Kopen Haven Prepares Demo

Kopen Haven, a four-man progressive rock band, recently took advantage of Media Recording's book 10hrs for $200 special. (see MediaRecording.com for details)

During their 10hr session they were able to complete a 3 track Demo.

Kopen Haven's Rush inspired sound is backed by their strong song writing ability and memorable lyrics. With their oldest member only 16 years old, Merrick-based, Kopen Haven is off to a great start. Check out Kopen Haven's MySpace page to learn more.
